Joe Biden’s Problems Are Bigger Than Personnel

The president’s lagging poll numbers and stalled legislation are problems that won’t simply be cured by making staff changes

Much as I agree with the sentiment that President Biden and the Democrats are currently on cruise control to a miserable midterm election outcome, I have a hard time believing simply exchanging one group of centrists for a fresher batch will miraculously turn everything around.

Still, frustrated with Biden’s low poll numbers, stalled legislation, inflation continuing to burden Americans, along with a conservative media complex terrifying white people nationwide about Toni Morrison books, party members are going public with their complaints that Biden should replace some White House staff members as a show of faith to Americans.

“A sign of a good leader and a successful executive is to identify the policies or personnel choices that have not resulted in success and make necessary course corrections — because it’s too important not to,” Florida Congresswoman Stephanie Murphy said in an interview with NBC News focused on the growing outcry.

Murphy is not wrong, but as the co-chair of the Blue Dog Coalition, she is very much a part of the problem herself. It’s centrists like her who…
