- Educators are pushing back against the stereotype of a self-sacrificial teacher who can be guilt-tripped into returning to school before the pandemic is under control. Harley Litzelman is calling on teachers to refuse to return to their classrooms until there are no local Covid-19 cases reported for 14 consecutive days.
- Shameem Patel says there are just two options for the upcoming fall semester: Either reopen schools safely, only if they’re properly funded, or switch to fully virtual learning. Without the necessary resources, she says, neither will work.
