Racist Zoom-bombers crashed a virtual town hall this week hosted by Connecticut’s first-ever Black congresswoman. Ten minutes into her Zoom meetup with voters on Monday, racist trolls began interrupting Rep. Jahana Hayes’ broadcast by calling her the N-word and repeatedly typing “Go pick your cotton” into the chat. The onslaught of abuse lasted for around six minutes while Hayes’ staff played whack-a-mole with trying to kick out the vile offenders before others continued the harassment.

“I am tired, completely and utterly tired,” Rep. Hayes writes on Medium. “I am not okay that this happened. I am not okay, that this is not the first time this has happened in my life or that I’ve had to explain that this happens.”
