Is there enough graft, double-dealing, and self-interested chicanery in the Trump administration to publish this column every week? Only time — and Trump — will tell. (But we feel pretty confident.) Presenting this week’s installment of the Trump Corruption Index.

Woodward’s Covid bombshell

In a series of interviews earlier this year with journalist Bob Woodward, President Trump admitted to downplaying the threat of the coronavirus to the public. Released last week just ahead of Woodward’s new book, Rage, the tapes show that Trump had a deeper knowledge of the danger that Covid-19 posed to the public, and openly admitted to minimizing the threat. “I wanted to always play it down,” Trump told Woodward in March. “I still like playing it down, because I don’t want to create a panic.”
