Trump, the producer and reality star, is back, baby! On Friday evening, the president will join Tucker Carlson Tonight for his first on-camera interview since he was diagnosed last week with Covid-19. It’s an effort to prove that, as a self-proclaimed “perfect physical specimen,” he is doing great (obvious hacking and coughing aside). But that’s not all that his favorite friendly network, Fox News, will offer viewers, contributor Marc Siegel, MD, will conduct a “medical evaluation” of the president. How will it work? No idea! Will it be accurate? Probably not, given the track record of Tucker Carlson’s show. Does this give us propaganda vibes? You betcha!
Truth is, it’s Donald Trump’s reality TV presidency and we’re just living under it.
